Scrapbooking, one step at a time!

Hello fellow friends! A lot of things have happened since my last blog post here! I have moved into my new home in Rice Lake which I love! Currently, I am a full time home-maker covered from head to toe with laundry & dishes. Sound familiar to any of you? I am not only covered from head to toe with household duties but also have the responsibility of my business to keep me busy! I have been having so much fun working with my cricut machine lately and using it to make my wedding scrapbook come even more to life! I am also taking online training courses for my Close to My Heart business. I am hugely impressed with this company and am so glad that I get to be a part of this awesome team! They required a very small start up fee and you would not believe all the amazing stamps, scrapbooking paper, and other exciting embellishments that I received just for signing up. I thought that the items that I received alone were well worth the investment but on top of that they offer an online training academy where you can earn your bachelors degree, masters degree, and your PHD. So far I have completed my bachelors, and am working on my masters. I have learned so much it has been incredible. I am getting excited to start hosting parties and having crops/workshops at my home. I am so lucky to be doing what I love to do and it allows me to be so flexible! Be sure to check back often as I am going to start posting my latest layouts and designs within the next couple of weeks!

Starting my Scrapbooking Business = One Step at a Time

So I am starting this blog to sort of document the process that has unfolded due to the start up of my new scrapbooking business. It requires a lot of thought & time but I am really excited for what the future holds for me & my business. A few months ago I started ordering inventory for my business that inclludes albums, paper punchers, Jolee's stickers, etc. The picture above is me with my first order. Since then I have started to sell a few of my things on ebay where I have made some profit but now with ebay jacking their seller fee's it is going to be hard to continue to make as good of a profit if any at all. Ebay's listing fees have decreased substantially but their seller fee's have increased dramatically. They are taking a cut of 9% now. Not to mention PayPal charges the seller's a fee on every paypal transaction that you receive. So if you are selling something for 2.50 total you have to account for the 44 cents it costs to ship the product (at a minimum) and then almost 25 cents goes to Ebay & then another 10 or so cents goes to PayPal. I have started to wonder if I should continue to sell with Ebay or not. It makes sense to sell more costly items that are more rare in nature that you couldn't sell at a garage sale for as much as you could on Ebay.

On another note I just became a Consultant for a company called "Close to My Heart" it is like Creative Memories but I like the products better. They have a HUGE variety of items that I am really excited to share with others. I am super excited to host crop nights at my new home where I can scrapbook with friends & family & any-one who wants to come! I will have Close to My Heart merchandise to sell as well as the inventory that I have ordered in from other companies. If you have an interest in seeing what I have to offer let me know & I will be glad to show you what I have!
